This 4-unit, 6,000-square-foot retail development becomes the catalyst for Prince George’s County’s current small area plan for converting an underserved commercial stretch of suburban roadway into a denser, urban-style setting. The new building occupies the prominent corner of an existing retail shopping center while its site design includes extensive landscaping and storm water retainment/management. The steel-framed structure is sheathed in expressive colored masonry and large glass openings and incorporates broad bay show windows pin-wheeling beyond and above each facade. These glass ‘towers’ at the corners establish a strong visual presence from the street.
