Creekside Village Assisted Living Facility is the first phase of a multi-phase senior development site located in Smyrna, GA. The estimated $10.9 million dollar project will be a 78,500 sq. ft., 3-story building with 108 rooms and a designated wing for those who need more intense support due to dementia or other memory related functions.
This 108 unit senior housing project incorporates the latest building and life safety code requirements as recently implemented by the State of Georgia. The existing site conditions required us to go with a three story design solution to achieve the desired unit count for this facility. The codes therefore required that we go to a one hour rated construction classification due to the fact that the building was three stories. If we had been able to incorporate a two story design we could have remained as a non-combustible construction without the one hour rating.
