When we approach the history of architecture and sculpture, it is inevitable that we speak of marble. The luxury product, marble, quartz, quartzite, etc can add glamour and character to the given space. The very process of selection of these products is tedious and challenging. Our client Crava studio wants to make this process simpler by offering a display centre in heart of the city.
We planned to design the small studio as a unique premium space with a sense of “young vibe”. The design concept adopted was “Time Collage”, which means a new space-time area, that is, the third space where different elements of the past and present coexist and provides a new trend created by a combination of space and completely different things that customers have never experienced before. It is a space that provides a new luxury mood and a fun and fresh experience that inspires.
The rectangular space was divided into two smaller rectangular spaces to create a spatial difference for various category of products and to camouflage the existing columns. The grand wooden door welcomes to an array of arches, panelled with flutes and veneer. The additional spaces in between the columns are used as camouflaged storage. Besides the main door on left side is a highlighted wall with peach colour lacquered glass, to become the base for exotic quartzite. The smaller section is dedicated for quartz display. The other section houses display of quartzite, tiles and an area to display the ready lots available. The circular display pieces are surrounded with Mild steel rim finished with copper powder coating. These are further projected out from the wall to give a floating feel, with cove light or backlite for translucent products. An free standing unit next to the reception counter, houses various samples which elicit the craftmanship of the karighar’s on the luxury material. The freestanding display units are rotatable for ease of display. The wooden finish SPC flooring lends a neutral ambience to the otherwise, luxury stones in display. Special attention is paid to lighting as every display unit requires certain lux level to be maintained, as lighting can make or break the ambience of the display centre.
The store speaks through its own formality. A neutral space, with timeless materials, that give prominence to luxury in products and contemporary and inspiring context to the space.
