The minimalized 1, 620 s.f. footprint is tucked between naturally landscaped front and backyards. Organized around an open courtyard, the house is customized to meet the owner’s love of gardening. Offering multiple “outdoor rooms”, the Courtyard House features a swooping butterfly roof that presents a strong roofline and extends to form the carport. The roof also allows for vaulted ceilings to allow natural daylight to fill each space. The residence sports a contemporary rustic appeal sporting a rich and warm color scheme on both the exterior and interior that includes wood textures and the owner’s favorite, vibrant red accents. In plan, the C-shaped layout is simply programmed with clear, distinct public and private zones connected internally by a glazed hallway with a window seat to the courtyard. The south and front end of the house features a large open kitchen and living space easily accessible to the courtyard for various opportunities for entertaining with guests and of course, relaxation without. Vibrant red hand-glazed subway tiles serve as focal points at the entry on the exterior and at the fireplace in the living room.
