The project benefits from the Ecuadorian
coastline’s natural landscape and tropical weather.
The house is organised around a large social area
that rests on a platform that emerges from the natural terrain. The pyramidal
roof amplifies the spatial qualities.
Solid volumes house the intimate areas and provide shelter for night-time
activities.
The house’s open disposition naturally
conditions the weather. The great palm leave and bamboo roof allows the sea
breeze to cool the house as well as provide comforting shade from the intense
sunlight. The use of local and exposed materials simplifies the design and
guarantees the construction’s adequate adaptability to the Ecuadorian climate.
Rainwater flows through specifically designed
channels, becoming part of the architecture.
