Cottage
An ‘abandoned’ cottage is renovated
by replacing the existing delapidated roof,
with a ‘habitable’,natural slate clad roof space
enclosing kitchen,dining and living.
The roof space form is created by an off-set of the gable ends
in the steel structure, which cantilever’s and opens,
forming views of the surrounding countryside and the stars.
The existing rendered random rubble external walls
were retained and house bedrooms and bathroom.
The front door becomes the back door and visa versa.
Project was carried out by direct labour.
Completed Winter 2008.
