As one of 15 projects, the light installation and sculpture 'COrtex Blau' has been chosen for the art festival 'Blaue Nacht Nuremberg 2011' in a competition with the topic 'strange realms'. Every year, the Blaue Nacht attracts more than 150.000 visitors in a single night. COrtex Blau is an architectural installation, playing with the similarities and differences of architecture and sculpture, with the aim of disassembly and new definition. The installation connects bridge, green, water and built volume with light and reshaping sculpture. The spatially diverse situation with the pedestrian bridge, the island, the chiseled shore at both sides of the river with strong horizontal and vertical lines as well as different surfaces and structures. The tip of the island is overwhelmed by the rythmic, dynamic and regular pattern and thus connected spatially and atmospherically. The inside if the sculpture is a permeable space which appears partially transparent and partially closed off. laser projections, playing with the lines of the sculpture, as well disassemble the pattern and construct a new one. a spatial installation emerges on the island.
