This project is located in an iconic building in Mexico City that stands out for the historical significance of its ground and magnificent address, alongside a great architecture with a peculiar interior morphology. Torre Manacar accommodates the corporate offices of a world class insurance company in an area of 17, 000 sq. m in 7 levels, one of them with a grand terrace. The space was designed based on the global design guidelines of the company, creating flexible and adaptable spaces towards nowadays business environment answering to a new emerging task force.
The offices were designed having sustainability as the main axis plus taking account of factors such as the selection of materials, optimum illumination considering the access of natural light for all users, energy efficiency and air quality answering to the requirements of the LEED certification.
The design of the space is a reflection of the global presence of this international insurance company mixed with the local flavor derived from the rich Mexican culture. A dynamic, collaborative, transparent, efficient and human working environment was created to promote wellbeing and communication. Premium manufacturers in the market were selected in order to achieve the best performance aiming to reach the highest standards in design, ergonomic and comfort. The project is organized under the three work components according to the company´s guidelines: La Plaza, El Quiosco and El Barrio.
La Plaza (the square) is located in the access level, is the company`s employees, visitors, and partners meeting point where the culture and biggest asset of the organization: the people, stands out. It is formed by reception, meeting room for internal and external visitors, telepresence center, canteen, technical service area “tech life”, bank branch, medical service and a grand terrace with an extraordinary landscape design.
El Quiosco (the kiosk) is the informal space that promotes communication and encounters among users. It has free access shared spaces for all the staff providing a variety of choices that adapt to their tasks and moods. There are two in each floor distributed in each wing with coffee service, refrigeration, food preparation and prepaid canteen service. As the concept abstracted the essence of different regions of the country, where the color strategy, branding and furniture design resulted, each quiosco has a particular sense to offer the user a unique experience.
El barrio (the quarter) is the space that forms primarily the typical floors accommodating work equipment sharing a group of tools for the daily activities such as: printing service, archive, storage and wellness rooms (rooms for nursing and wellness). It has three kind of working spaces: private office, set workstation and hoteling workstation. There are also single workstations in open areas where spaces for formal and informal collaboration were designed, as well as spaces for concentration with different finishes, colors and furniture giving each typology a clear character. With this the routine and monotony of daily tasks is broken supporting the user’s health and wellbeing.
