Created for entry in the 2010 New York Sukkah City Design Build Competition, the Cornucopia Sukkah spirals from the earth. The wooden schach emerges as a surface on which to sit or sleep, continues upward as a table, winds higher to suspend the harvest bounty, ascends toward the stars and becomes its roof. The ever changing projected pattern of shade moves with the sun. The Cornucopia Sukkah is a continous expression of flow from earth to ascent. Frugal use of only three materials and pipe connectors make for easy erection and disassembly.
