Hord Coplan Macht led the team for the new 178,000 gsf Physical Education Complex and 72,000 gsf Facilities Management and Public Safety Building. Coppin is undergoing a long-awaited and significant campus improvement program and these two projects continue an exciting era of growth for the University.
The $105 million Physical Education Complex replaced the existing and out-of-date Coppin Center. The new facility includes a 4,100-seat arena, two-court gymnasium, group exercise rooms, a dance studio, weights, fitness, racquetball courts, classrooms, offices, trade shops, a soccer field, a 400-meter track, softball field and tennis courts. The Facilities Management and Public Safety Building houses the campus’ maintenance, capital planning, and public safety operations.
