EMPLACEMENT AND BASIC PRINCIPLES The four buildings define the northern front of the street and delimit footpaths that cross the set from north to south. As in previous phases, the solution - morphologically different - guarantees the same basic principles: to give each family a housing unit that, although part of a building, is as similar as possible with a detached dwelling, and to ensure all units cross ventilation and equal terms of solar orientation.
FORMAL ASPECTS • South Façade: regular metric, differentiating the lower floors (living rooms and laundries), and the top floor penthouse (bedrooms). • North Façade (entrances, living rooms and bathrooms): more homogeneous treatment without hierarchy of floors. • Flexibility of positioning the windows in the North, East and West façades, reducing possible effects of monotony. • Façades East and West: smaller spans, enhancing the variety of lighting and improving ventilation. • Coverage: a water-coated roof tile to the natural color, as the Regulation of Allotment. • Structure: columns, beams, slabs lightened and reinforced concrete, ensuring maximum parking spaces.
TYPOLOGIES AND FUNCTIONAL ORGANIZATION The buildings consist of three floors of housing and a floor of parking. First floor is 90 to 120cm above ground, to ensure some privacy and to facilitate the access to parking by ramp, each one shared by two buildings. It also ensures its cross ventilation. Each building has two separate entrances, each giving access to two 2 bedroom units and two 3 bedroom units, in a total of 8 dwellings. • 2 bedroom units duplex: ground floor includes entrance, living room, kitchen and laundry room, a bedroom and a full bathroom. In the first floor there is a second bedroom and another full bathroom. • 3 bedroom units: accessible by private stairs, are located predominantly on floors 1 and 2. First floor: living room, kitchen, laundry and a toilet. 2nd floor: 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The living rooms, kitchens and two of the second floor rooms are south oriented. Additional bedrooms and bathrooms are north oriented. The stair case is provided with a skylight, ensuring natural light.
