Garden Designer, Josh Ward Garden
Design, was asked to reconfigure this somewhat tired outside space in Muswell
Hill, North London to tie in with a very modern kitchen/diner/media room
extension. Seemless paving was used inside and out. Josh designed a hot
coloured, eco-friendly and insect attracting planting scheme with year round
interest, that offered structure, movement, sound and high impact whilst
softening the hard contemporary lines with evergreen grasses and evergreen and
semi-evergreen pond planting.
The lighting design was designed by Josh
to be environmentally friendly by using solely LED lamps, both in and out of
the pond. These new lamps have been developed to offer a warm hallogen-esque
light quality which glow throughout the space; with the large Birch trees and
water feature being the main center of focus with low level lighting that
wisped over the grasses to illuminate the paths.
