The 1st honorable mention at an international competition
This project was a part of an international architectural competition organized to find an ideal solution for a unique façade in the town center. This façade will cover a brand new commercial and residential building in the old part of town.
The task was to develop a design which will meet the needs of future residents and professional office while following the context of an already existing and protected architectural heritage in Subotica.
Today we present our brand new design for a façade of a new building in Subotica, a town in the North of Serbia. This was the first time for us to design such object, and now we are more than happy with the results.
This project was a part of an international architectural competition started to find an ideal solution for a unique façade in the town center.
This façade will cover a brand new commercial and residential building in the old part of town. The task was to develop a design which will meet the needs of future residents and professional offices. A new object will be built between two well-known buildings of great historical value. On its right side is the town`s Polyclinic. This object has a state protection and it was built between two World Wars. On the left is a town`s only Gymnasium designed in a baroque style. It was built in 1895 by a great Hungarian architect Ferenc Raichle.
As stated in the competition form, the architectural design of the façade had to follow the context of a protected architectural heritage in Subotica. In other words, the investors were looking for an adequate response to the surrounding architecture. It was of the utmost importance to choose materials which will maintain the building`s original aesthetics.
Our team came out with this design and a few weeks later we were rewarded with some good news. Not only did our project got the first honorable mention, yet the investors decided to buy it!
