Connaught Marina, located in Sheung Wan, heart of downtown old Hong Kong, was inspired by the History of the site: the Triangular Pier, where people gathered to trade goods from China and overseas, sets theme of a Marina. The Streamline Moderne architectural form pays homage to tenement houses of the old Victoria City. Interior inspired by an old Junk’s cabin, and openness to the sea. Hovering canopy with candescent LED echoes the sweeping centennial tram-line and the nostalgic ambience of the old pier, a bond with the city’s present and past.
Multiple common floors for users’ escaping from business hustle with lush landscape and plush chairs to lounge in, with stunning Victoria Harbour as background, where 18/F doubles as a refuge floor.
Artworks by 6 local and international artists are showcased throughout the building, not only at interior, but around the façade and sky gardens, visible from afar on the elevated highway, offering an artistic and refreshing working ambience to the urbanscape of this skyscraper city.
