Client wanted to gut his custom builder house kitchen, and remake it in a modern way. We removed the walls and built steel shelf columns. Two kitchen islands were designed with custom concrete slabs. One island was an eating island with tee legs. The other was a working island with a U-shaped slab of concrete. Other 18 separate, custom formulated and polished concrete slabs were used for the remodel. The largest was 5 by 9 foot. Lighting was important as was the red wall to color the room. Silver curtains covered the builder trimmed windows to put emphasis on the poured concrete entertainment center.
