An existing single-family-home within a park-like environment should be extended in order to offer a home the familie's three generations - the grandparensts now have got an autonomous home directly within the garden. The existing building is made of red clinker bricks - untypical for the area and owed to the fact, that the previous owner came from northern germany. This led to the tenant's wish for an annex with visible concrete walls, which we as architects gladly fulfilled. The annex was designed with a clear 'garden-wise' orientation in all areas in mind. At the same time it seemed vital to us to form out individual zones of 'intimacy' for each generation and each family member.
