www.stnex.comConcerto is a performance in 3 acts. A recurrent melody, in varying nuances and tones, playing out across spaces decorated in wood, black lacquer, leather and brass. A dramatic, theatrical stage; created with the overarching goal of allowing people to shine.
Concerto has different moods. During the day the atmosphere breathes in the tranquillity and elegance of a classic café; perfect for reading or chatting in this warm, cosy setting. In the evening, Concerto transforms itself to become a chic and sophisticated cocktail lounge; the intensity of its glamour increasing as the night unfolds.
Concerto is expressed through three distinct yet similar spaces. There are no physical boundaries separating them, but each zone is clearly unique and each one suggests a special way of being. Nearest to the entrance, the first ambiance is that of a dining salon, including a Chester sofa in red carmine leather combined with table and armchairs sets. The second and central area is the cocktail lounge with its impressive black marble bar with space for standing and barstool seating. And finally, there is the VIP-lounge, a very exclusive spot, with its own bar and black leather sofas and puff-cushions. Despite the differences of the three areas, the overall space is fluid and continuous, offering new vistas at every turn. The restrooms are found on the upper floor, with a shining black marble basin, a mirror that displays digital messages and four stalls with back-lit photographs by Jordi Sarrà on the ceiling, with classic music individualized for each one.
Concerto offers constant delights for the senses. Each scene has been created meticulously, as if by an ancient alchemist or a contemporary master chef, combining materials, colours and objects in the right proportion, adding different subtleties and accents to each perspective. The sense of touch is appealed to by the use of velvet, the chestnut wood relief, the smooth and silky lacquers, the rich leather armchairs, the texture of sandstone and polished brass… Sight is gratified by suspended lamps, from both Verner Panton and Gocce Fontana, the photographic landscapes created by Jordi Sarrà – some of which are printed on stone, or are dramatically back-lit – and also by the low resolution LED screens that travel up the staircase, offering changing atmospheres of silhouettes, forms and colours.
Seen through the window from the outside, the space and the starring players, the guests, combine to create a captivating and evolving cinematic montage.
