The project's brief entails redesigning staff areas at Tuscany Resort Castelfalfi to foster inclusivity, social interaction, and adaptability while honoring the region's heritage and landscape.
Commencing with a reconfiguration of internal flows, pathways for employees, catering staff, and visitors to the cafeteria are optimized. A unified hall, achieved through spatial reorganization, promotes colleague relationships and social engagement.
This hall is versatilely furnished to accommodate various activities and events, fostering both collaboration and organized gatherings such as presentations and company lunches. Additionally, recreational areas, including an outdoor space for a foosball table and indoor wooden board games, encourage leisure and camaraderie.
The interior articulation is also achieved through the use of different tones and materials, each referencing the context in which the intervention is carried out. This landscape is characterized by warm tones and materials from the Tuscan artisan tradition, such as terracotta.
Plastered surfaces and ceramic coverings work according to a chromatic scale of warm colors. The project uses different types and formats of ceramics to accentuate the volumes in space and make them scenic backdrops for the activities that take place here.
The project also recalls traditional materials and forms through the construction of a divider built with hollow terracotta elements, placed along the central wooden furniture. It acts as a filter wall, separating the main hall from the self-service path while allowing natural light to filter through.
Acoustic comfort is prioritized, with sound-absorbing materials chosen for their sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The selected product is both environmentally friendly and easily maintainable, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere conducive to social interaction.
The panels are arranged in blades, creating a lowered ceiling that creates a more intimate atmosphere and highlights the meal consumption area. Panels of different colors were chosen, creating a ceiling with an alternating rhythm of hues.
