Community Smith combines the old world charm of a traditional steakhouse with a feminine sensibility and modern fresh look. With its unique “Tavern and Diner” motif, the restaurant aims to provide a feeling of comfort while maintaining a strong sense of style. Classic fixtures and furnishings are placed alongside more industrial pieces to achieve this look. A bold architectural design statement begins at the entrance hall with a towering, custom-made, 15 foot high chandelier inspired by motifs from the early Industrial revolution. Wood beams and rustic high top tables provide the “Tavern feel” of the restaurant. This warmth, augmented by subdued lighting and features such as the “transparent” bar wall, create a fantastic atmosphere and sense of place. Custom light fixtures with perforated metal shades provide a visual texture and character to the light of the space.
