Not far from a coastal town Crikvenica, almost at the top of the hill, on the border between sky and sea, lies Ladvić, a place with an incredible sea and island view, where silence often alternates with the roar of the wind. It is a place with small houses, still unpolluted with excessive tourist construction, where local people still hang out, and it is normal when people hang out to drink some wine and play bocce. From these gatherings, a respectable bocce team emerged, that „kicks ass“ at the regional championships, and when some results are achieved, it is necessary to be in shape throughout the year. An indoor hall imposed itself as the most logical solution. As the urban structure of Ladvić is fragmented and scattered, when thinking about the concept, the first and foremost urge was to fragment the sports hall to fit the scale of the place itself, not to become dominant with its volume.
In the interspace of this fragmented structure, a small public square was formed from which the hall itself can be easily accessed as well as the local shop, cafe, community center, and bocce club premises. All this together offers potential for gatherings and meetings of as many people as possible, which makes this space the main square, and Ladvić finally got a chance to break the silence with the murmur of people and banging of boccia balls.
