The Anesthesia Center for Education, Research and Education is a new program that
supports simulation activities for anesthesiology residents, fellows and faculty. The
teaching and instruction through simulation has become a necessary part of medical
education and skills training that allows residents and fellows to focus on
communication, teamwork and crisis resource management while developing
critical skills and behaviors in simulated realistic scenarios. The facility includes
spaces to simulate care and scenarios in DRs, ICU, PACU, patient rooms and the ER.
CUMC has made a major commitment to simulation in medical and nursing
education. This is the first dedicated facility to open on campus.
