Fashion, Color and Light...in a Master Bath!
Finding balance between couple's personalities and taste can make for exciting design opportunities. Our clients have a mix of fun bright fashion sense and sophisticated business sense. In this Master En Suite we found harmony in using bright pops of color and pattern tempered with neutrals and subdued versions of the brighter colors. We found harmony by blending the bright pops lime and peacock blue accents in the cabinetry fronts with high gloss white finish as the shell of the custom cabinetry.
We found another opportunity for harmony in finding a vibrant patterned tile that incorporates pops of color with neutrals within the pattern of the tile. To make the room feel more expansive, we walked the vibrant porcelain tile planks across the floor from clothing area to shower, up the shower wall and onto the ceiling. This bold move not only ties the room together but also creates a bit of drama in their spa shower.
Our client has an extensive collection of purses which require storage. We used a combination of chrome modern hooks, high gloss white cubbies, and metal hanging rod as the frame on which to display these beauties.
The sink is the natural divide between the bathing and clothing areas and by using a bright white vessel sink we transition from our high gloss white cabinets to the porcelain sink and then to our neutral gray quartz counter which cascades to the floor picking up the neutrals in the floor tiles as well as the blues in the glass subway tiles of the shower accent walls.
Our naturally lit shower has a feeling of being at the spa by utilizing a flush threshold to create a seamless transition from bathroom floor to shower floor. The seamless transitions continue from floor to wall and wall to ceiling; drawing you eye to the skylight where natural light rains in.
