A radical, adaptive reuse of the 35 year old, 4 story steel frame building into a mixed discipline educational center (URBN Center) for Drexel's College of Media Art and Design. A new central 4-story atrium was cut through the central four bays of the existing building and new floors were inserted to take up the floor area lost to the open space. Bridges, stairs and an added elevator was inserted into this new gap. Design review spaces, a fashion runway and shared digital media labs were clustered around this dynamic new zone of the building.
