The grounds take up the pattern of the building structures in their organization. Diagonal paths lead through the park to connect the neighbourhoods to the east and west of the park. The campus includes different activity areas. There are several cafés, a meadow for events with an open stairway, a garden of grasses and a multifunctional athletic field. Additional activity areas can be integrated at the request of the users.
The new space in the center of the design is both a meeting place and a venue area. The greenbelt spreads over the square as an activity lawn. Wide seating steps descend to a sunken parterre and provide seating for outdoor events. During special events, such as flea markets or festivals, the whole surface of the square can be used. The square provides space for the outdoor seating areas of the dining hall and the convention center. The seating spaces function as sanctuary shelters as well as animating elements of the square.
The design of the park deals with the interweaving of the Western and Eastern cultivations. Like a network, pathways are connecting different quarters. The resulting turf fields are in some areas topographically tilted, and thus form an ideal lawns for play and sunbathing. Some lawns are planted with roses and lilacs and provide seasonal effects. The tree planting is seasonally staggered. The primary tree of the design are pine trees. Because pine trees are evergreen, they delight visitors year round, especially in winter. Vegetation accents are created by planting cherries, which bloom in bright pink in spring and red oaks, which become bright red color in autumn.
