The assignment consisted in the realization of a college for the commune of Maipú, in the Metropolitan Region.
The program considered classrooms for 1280 students, workshops, administrative areas, and interior courtyards developed within the college´s main volume.
Additionally, an area of outside "patios" composed by leisure green areas, sports fields and an indoor fitness center, should be designed.
The college is located in a sector, highlighted by the growing real estate development, sorrounded by agricultural areas in its immediate context also.
The plot of 13,200 m2 supplies large areas of patio and landscape for school life.
The building is constructed along the main dimension of the field with a volume composed by four levels which occupies almost the entire front of the site, offering the college a leading scale within the immediate context, and also the communal one.
The Horizontality of the building supports its height providing consistent general proportions through the vertical rate caused by rhythm of courtyards and classrooms, reinforced with the proportion of the windows.
The use of micro-perforated walls and the exposed concrete constitute the rhythmic elements of the building by giving the spatial differences of this.
Vivid colors over the windows and concrete walls allows identity and urban presence to the college.
