Client:Colchester Farm, Non-Profit Educational Farming CommunitySpecial Features/Accomplishments:Located on a 350-acre farm in Kent County, Maryland, Colchester Farm recently sold its land development rights to the State of Marlyland’s Land Conservancy. The remaining homestead of farmland, located in the center of the agricultural lands, has been permitted for development as long as new construction occurs within the footprints of the existing agricultural structures. In an attempt to promote sustainable lifestyles within the community, Colchester Farm re-appropriated a portion of their farmland for Community Supported Agriculture. As a result of its recent success and community impact, a need developed to provide for on-site intern housing.Colchester Farm retains A+M for future master plan implementation, which includes a long-term vision of a yoga retreat centered on healthy lifestyle and organic food production.
