After 18 years, Coda Strategies decided to move the main offices of the company from the suburbs to a 200 sqm space situated in the ground floor of a 100 years old Parisian building.
The design task: to create an open space area that will serve as a main working space for the company's 8 partners and associates in accordance with the company policy for collaborative work.
The key concept is FLEXIBILITY: the space is divided into ten space modules: work areas, meeting areas, informal meeting areas, entertainment areas and a projection room.
The exact distribution of the program is perfectly adaptable to the dynamic needs of the organization as the modular space structure allows all kinds of permutations until the best solution is found.
To enhance luminosity of the north oriented space we used a white epoxy resin for the floor and a white reflective paint for the walls. This will bring unity to the space while it still remains divided by the apparent metal beams and existing structure.
The walls retain their original texture: three different kind of stone and brick, as a reminder of the rich history of the building. In the projection room part of an existing wall will be also kept.
Since it's an open space, the acoustics were carefully considered: 2x2 m panels of acoustic foam are fixed on the walls, balancing the white floor and walls and providing acoustic protection.
The panels transform the office area in an exhibition space centered on the company's know how: efficiency. But in this informal work - exhibition space, the exhibited work is not the object itself but the solution to the biggest requirements for the space: the light by reflections and the sound by the silence.
