The restaurant and café project is located in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, at a rare intersection between a gentle riverfront and the mountainous landscape beyond, forming a setting rich in natural character. The design concept is derived directly from this contextual dialogue: a stepped roof system is composed to echo the undulating rhythm of the surrounding mountains, while soft, curved rooflines express the fluid movement of the river flowing alongside the site.
The roof is finished with traditional Vietnamese yin–yang clay tiles, reinforcing a strong connection to local architectural heritage. At the heart of the project, an integrated water courtyard becomes a key spatial element, reinterpreting the imagery of Cai Rang Floating Market in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta through wooden platforms, pavilions, and boats gently set upon the water. Elements such as coconut palms, raw natural timber decking, and tactile materials are intentionally introduced to create a warm, grounded atmosphere rooted in vernacular culture.
Overall, the project represents a harmonious synthesis of architecture, landscape, and cultural memory—where traditional inspirations are reimagined through a contemporary architectural language, thoughtfully adapted to the local climate, topography, and cultural identity of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, offering users an experience that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.
