The Clinic Medical Plus is situated in the 5th floor of the building in the city center of the small town Uherske Hradiste. The Clinic includes areas, which were originally designed for living purposes. Dispositions of five apartments were absolutely changed to allow running of rheumatologic and osteological clinic. Thanks to early beginnings of architectonic study it was possible to execute several structural changes in the building which was just under construction.
The entries into the waiting rooms were extended by adapting of steel-concrete ceiling. Sanitary facilities were reduced into required minimum. Dispositions were repeatedly changed up to the point of optimum functional and operational solution. The highest demand was placed on the logical organization and functional continuity of each unit.
The clinic is divided into two parts of the building. Waiting room, nurse’ room and doctor’s office are identically placed in each part of the building. Left part includes also blood taking room, infusion, offices, staff day room and also client's relax room - studio. Offices serve for processing of conducting researches which are very important for running of this clinic. The right part of the clinic includes: densitometry, office, boardroom and medicaments storage area as well.
White color was chosen as symbol picturing cleanness and healthy sterility of medical institution. The whole clinic is meant as light monochromatic space, where the matt and structured materials surfaces are changing with highly smooth, glossy and transparent surfaces. It is dematerialized space where the light creates a form through different type of surfaces. The monochromatic spaces are filled by chipboard furniture which “grows” out from the walls. In several cases, the orginal walls are enclosed by the chipboard screens.
The glass partition in main doctor's office was originally considered to be covered by printed graphic to make a semi-transparent curtain. The purpose of this was to do more intimacy for patient but the client has decided to let it transparent for a while. The large glass wall in nurses' room contributes to more lightness and at the same time enables better noise separation.
Atypical wallpapers, which were designed just for this project are used in waiting rooms and boardroom. Wallpapers represent schematic interpretation of cellular tissue. This graphic motive was generated by Voronoi algorithm. By using of parametric design method, it was possible to create many variations of patterns which served for next graphic processing. Each wall has its unique graphic pattern.
