Claudette, sister restaurant to Rosemary’s, was completed in 2014 and offers provincial French cuisine in the heart of Greenwich Village. Located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 9th Street, former home of Cru and Washington Park, the space was originally set several steps below grade and concealed by a 1970’s era enclosed sidewalk café. The new design seeks to directly engage with Fifth Avenue by removing the enclosures and introducing large, glazed French doors to seamlessly merge interior and exterior while letting in plenty of natural light and fresh air. With the intention of creating a unified façade along Fifth Avenue, the co-op board also hired ABA to remove a second sidewalk enclosure and restore the façade at the adjacent commercial space.
