The redevelopment plan for the 75-acre Denver Design District focuses on the concept of “SHIFT”; that is, to change the land-use and on-site activity patterns gradually toward a more compact and sustainable future. The urban space design emphasizes on rearranging the subdivisions, creating pedestrian streets with visual focal points honoring the existing landmark sculpture, while maintaining the current grids at the same time. Development phasing and financial viability are also taken into concern in this design / planning proposal.
