The breakdown of entry vs privacy to this western suburb house allows a visual filtering of the building from the street to the back of the property. An enclosed courtyard, with a sloping panelled roof inspired by Alvar Aalto’s Maison Carré. A pavilion/verandah was created to the rear with the leftover skillion roof, which allowed for the play of light from the east and west filtering into the space between.
