It also consists of knowing how to offer a sense of solitude without creating an oppressive ambience. It involves creating a relaxing, sober, bare environment without making it cold and lifeless. Finally, designing a monastery is knowing how to take advantage of the light to reveal shapes and the rhythm of day-to-day life.
