Application
Located in the heart of Victory Park, a vibrant shopping and entertainment complex neighboring the American Airlines Arena, Cirque provides all the comforts of a modern home with the services of an upscale hotel and incredible views of the Dallas skyline. The building offers high-end living and exclusive amenities on a grand scale.
Cambridge Architectural’s mesh system brings a vibrant and cutting-edge quality to Cirque's seventh floor pool deck, the Orbit Lounge, which is visible from Victory Plaza and surrounding areas. The mesh defines space by hanging on circular tracks in various rounded booths, or "pods", providing a fashionable design both during the day and at night. Cambridge's circular mesh frames are integral to the design concept of the entire building and ultimately to its "Cirque" name.
Function
The Cambridge mesh solution was chosen for Cirque because it uniquely defines space by hanging as a curtain, but at the same time requires virtually no maintenance and can withstand the higher wind load on the pool deck. Furthermore, one of the three mesh curtains that were installed could be moved along a track, allowing a multimedia area to be closed off from the shared space. The metal fabric curtain system was a perfect solution for an elegant and usable exterior environment.
Benefit
Cambridge Architectural's ability to work with the architect and interior designer throughout the design process ensures that unnecessary costs are kept to a minimum. By partnering with Cambridge throughout the entire process, custom applications are easily brought to life, like the fixed and movable mesh curtains in the pods of Cirque's Orbit Lounge. Additionally, the durability and sheer strength of architectural mesh holds up very well outside and eliminates the need for replacement materials. Cambridge Architectural is an active member of the USGBC®, and helps architects take maximum advantage of LEED credit through the many categories in which architectural mesh systems apply.
