After 40 years of use this office building with house attached was in need of a renovation. To meet the requirements of 2022 an energylabel C is mandatory. In 2030 a energy label A is required.
The steel windows were not isolated and filled with double glass which was leaking.

A perfect moment to make a sustainable EnerPHit renovation. At first we researched a replacement of all windows by isolated aluminum windows. This proofed a expensive option, also due to restoration on the inside. This way the idea was created to keep the current steel window frames. This circular solution led to an upgrade through a redesign of the original Jansen profile. Re-use of the existing window frame. In cooperation with Jansen the details were made. Thus providing a solution for triple glass and frame which was applicable for subsidy. Not only is this a big step for circular steel window frames it is also a big step in the energy transition.
