The new office building of Cimenterie Nationale is set in the industrial area of Chekka, about 65 km north of Beirut. It consists of three blocks that slides against each other in order to enlarge the access to the plot and embrace the existing building's footprint. By that, two internal spaces has been created articulated around a dynamic atrium, and connecting visually the whole. Its position allow an open view from the offices toward the factory, while the main entrance faces directly the main gate to be more inviting. The three blocks are dressed with stripped colored panels then the two outer blocks (offices) are covered with a perforated fair-faced concrete skin to provide a dynamic modern image, reflects the activity going into the factory and promote the plasticity of the concrete with the slanted roof and chopped corners, while the middle block comes without any concrete skin, to embrace the circulation core and to separate the two other offices blocks. The building combine a great flexibility of the interior spaces, with a simple and well-organized floor plan on different levels.
