The Children's Cancer
Hospital, Cairo,
was built and operated solely by donations and will provide a new standard of
healthcare excellence for the children of Egypt. The hospital had to integrate the desired US model for
healthcare delivery, as well as the region’s local practices and culture; a
full service teaching facility; and, promote the advancement of the staff and
medical technology in this field of research.
The hospital will accommodate 178 in-patients and is designed for
expansion to double its size both horizontally and vertically. The campus
master plan also incorporated a 90,000 square foot municipal park, and
150-space sub-grade parking. This facility is the second-largest hospital in
the world dedicated to solely to pediatric Cancer care.
