Cheshm Azin is an about 35 m² store located on Beheshti Street before its junction with Sohrevardi street. It was a camera store formerly and in the Spring 2008 we started to design it as an eyewear shop, here we meant to change a cubic form to a bowl-shaped one which is no ridge between its ceiling and wall, then we carved it out to have holes for entrance, lighting and presenting eyeglasses. The resultant form is a body which supports the structures, forms cavities and provides room for the eyeglasses like the bony cavity in the skull containing the eyeball.
By this idea we had empty spaces to present the objects and frames around them in which drawers and closet can be situated while they play structural role and connect the ceiling and floor. In these orbicular hollows we have shelves to display eyewear which are made of Plexiglas material to maintain the sense of suspension and emptiness and the bony structure around them is made of MDF sheets. We had the same idea to design the furniture of this space, they also resemble eye socket. In the construction process, we use the cad/cam(computer-aided design and manufacturing) method to have ultimate precision and speed in fabrication of the units.
