Recognized as one of Sears' top business partners, Chervon International Trading Company is a growing exporter of power tools in China. The flourishing company required space for its growing operations and sought an image that is contemporary and enduring.
We designed a 330,452 square foot zigzag-shaped office building to serve as the company's new headquarters in Nanjing. Its zigzag geometry breaks it into five segments, each housing one of the five major corporate departments including management, sales, R&D, testing and training. An external central circulation spine cuts obliquely through the zigzag segments and creates courtyard spaces that include water gardens.
The building accommodates approximately 800 employees and includes office space, meeting areas, showrooms, a cafeteria and executive dining facilities. The training area includes a 2-story, multipurpose room. The R&D department includes product testing labs, design/modeling areas, a workshop and a product sample room.
