Iconic New York City-based fashion brand was taking over a vacant retail unit in the prominent south-west concourse of Yorkdale Shopping Centre and wanted to change the entire storefront but adapt the interior merchandise areas. The two-story storefront required coordination with structural framing to integrate the spans required for the display windows. The interior minimized material resources by reusing much of the ceiling finishes and adapted the back-of-house areas as they were. Energy efficient lighting and controls were provided in the merchandise areas. Natural stained wood millwork, wall portals, and accent ceilings were introduced to provide a sense of well-being for the mall customers and sales associates.
Nicholas Jay Architect was the architect-of-record for the project in collaboration with a NYC-based architectural design firm, Design Republic.
