Full replacement of 1,240 original 100-year old wood, multi-light, eight-over-
eight-over-eight 9’-0” tall triple-hung and 6’-0” tall double-hung windows on all street,
courtyard, driveway and ramp elevations. Originally built by the innovative planning of architect Henry Atterbury Smith between 1909 and 1911, the four buildings, each six stories in height, were created to prove the theories of prominent physician Dr. Henry Shively, who proposed that by providing a healthful living environment through the use of ample light, air, and hygiene for individuals suffering from tuberculosis, they could remain living with their families without fear of the spread of infection.
