FREAKS has been ordered the interior design of Charles'Home headquarter and showroom on the ground floor of a very nice typical flamish facade apartment building located Rue de la Montagne, downtown Brussels, nearing the Galeries Royales of Saint-Hubert.
The client's main concern was to welcome the visitors in a comfy space split in two : one in the shape of set as a showroom, the second used as a back-office for the staff.
In between those two spaces, an existing outdoor patio has been turned into the central core of the project, articulating both programs on each side thanks to a 6,5 meters long cantilevered table. That meeting space benefits of a generous natural skylight thanks to a new diamond-shaped canopy. The two walls surrounding the table host a vertical garden only composed by dark leaves plants.
In the very back of the space, in order to add extra natural lights, to connect to the roof-terrace, and to create a very long perspective from the street, a new outdoor patio has been created, into which an antique cast iron staircase has been installed.
In the showroom area, visitors are welcome by an alignment of screens onto which are presented all Charles'Home apartment buildings in Brussels. The whole space is subtly sequenced by patchworks of flooring materials referring to those used in a standard apartment : the bedroom wooden floor, the living room concrete floor, the bathroom tiles, the terrace duckboard...
A Z-shaped rail hangs from the ceiling allowing to organize the space by using curtains such as the white-to-blue-gradient one permanently hanging on the side of the meeting table.
An extra meeting room has been managed in the under-groundspace.
The whole space work as a set, referring to both theater and shooting studio, to provide a flexible facility for hosting temporary events such as exhibitions, cocktails, parties...
