Basel, Switzerland
A single element of furniture that articulates through the house to connect the different spaces and open up views to the vegetation outside. In this project in Basel, attention was given to extending the connection between interior and exterior, amplifying the visual connections between the spaces in the house.
A furniture element that links the kitchen and the living room: a full-height oak wall with light lacquered bookcases set within it. Two wooden bands, at the base and the top, link the furniture elements and create portals connecting the entire floor of the house.
Moving into the kitchen, we find the same oak element connecting the two spaces and then giving way to the bright ceramic wall. This wall, which serves as a background for the entire dining area, echoes the colors of the outdoor vegetation and the vibrancy of the light, creating a continuity with the nature that envelops the house.
Upstairs, in the bedroom, the large walk-in closet completes the master bedroom. The oak as the common thread, complemented by elements in deep blue to give at the room more intensity. The door to the walk-in closet, in 3D textured glass with oak blackout panels, allows external light to pass through while maintaining a division and privacy.
