The project was conditioned both, by the awkward geometry of the plot and the orientation. The house was resolved in two bodies aligned to the edges; the vertex where they intersect, becomes an empty matrix for the semi-open vestibule. The resulting areas around the foot
prints of the two bodies, become open spaces: terrace, garden, patios, pool and solarium.
Given the nature of this beach house, we sought after generous, ventilated, and well illuminated spaces that would maintain a direct and open rapport to the exterior as well as to the landscape.
The narrow facade overlooking the street, is totally closed and hovers in cantilever over the garage, to allow more parking space. In contrast, the facade to the garden, is trans-lucid so that the exterior becomes an extension of the interior.
