The scenario involves a ‘cloud’ / a roof underwhich event, commitment and sensualitymerge. The chapel case02 is a portablespace, easily assembled and disassembled, ableto celebrate its important meaning everywhereand to establish a fiesta. Its extrovert spatialqualities give space to the event, to the protagonists;it is a space naked from any restrictive, superficial seriousness, from any borders. Nowalls are needed.Openness, transparency, colors are the spatialconstructs inspired always by the charactersinvolved. A big nebula of candy-coloured constellationsis the structure. In terms of materiality, the ‘cloud’ is formedby gap filler applied on a plywood surface andafter generated with small silicone, clay andacrylic particles. The juxtaposition of varyingtextures and forms bring to mind fairy floss andcandy objects, suggesting a playful spirit.Three transparent tubes hold the big enoughto host the amount of people needed ‘cloud’.Each of these tubes has a different thematic:The Flower, the Wish and the Cake are thethree event cliches that although already receivedand outdated are still necessary for amarriage event. The misreading of those threecliches is what chapel case02 proposes as thebuilded manifesto that New Yorkers choose tocelebrate marriage equality. The chapel case02 proposes a dreamy, imaginary, fictional approach to an exterior chapelspace. Our hypothesis is focused on the productionof an illusionary architecture, full of naturalodor, taste, and touch that moves.
