The museum’s mission is to be an interdisciplinary learning environment and gathering space where community comes together to share stories, preserve cultural heritage, and experience the unique aspects of Chandler as a people and place. The design accomplishes this by taking cues from the adjacent historic Price House and developing new site and programmed activity off of uses previously defined by the existing building.
The 11,000 sf museum includes a 4,500 sf exhibition space, archive storage, and community classroom which opens to the ‘living room’ courtyard creating a gathering space capable of handling multi-scale events and activity. The renovated Price House contains exhibit space, research library, and offices.
