The space,
which dates from 1950, was occupied by an antiquarian and had the walls covered
with carpet and the floor with a plasticised material. The purpose of the
intervention, beyond assigning a new function to the space, a bar that also
serves food, was to recover the original design of the building, which was
mischaracterized.
The idea was
to create a comfortable and welcoming space, demystifying the concept that the
champagne is associated with luxury environments.
So the
solution was to open the space to the street and create a bohemian environment,
represented in the illustrations on the walls. The choices of coating
materials, as well as furniture, were the key step in achieving a warm and
timeless environment.
