The goal of this project was to centralize all Repsol´s research and development laboratories located in different cities (Madrid, Cartagena, etc..) in one single building.
The project consists in the design of laboratories buildings and plants pilots with an area of approximately 35.000m2.
The site, located in the outskirts of Madrid, has an area of 200.000m2 (20 has). The works ordered by Repsol also included the feasibility study for a co- generation plant.
The main building is divided in two areas, one for the administration and direction with offices, meeting rooms, boardrooms, auditorium, library, cafeteria and restaurant and another one for laboratories, plants pilots that contains the different research laboratories such as: gas, refining, chemistry, LATD, analytical, etc…
The modern image had fundamental importance for Repsol. Thus, altogether it is a modern and functional set of high-tech buildings that will allow Repsol to count with a modern infrastructure of investigation that allow the group to approach the future technological challenges.
The building responds to the following criteria of design:
- Flexibility, Adaptability to the future changes in the I +D programs and possibility of extension in the second phase (duplicating the surface)
- Quality and modern image: attractive surroundings for workers to facilitate creativity and communicatio
- Security and Functionality
- Maximum power efficiency
