The plot has a rectangular shape, measuring 40.00m x 32.50m and a total area of 1,300 m2. Its topography presents a sensitive transverse unevenness of approximately 4%, in a diagonal direction to the plot and in a northwest-southeast direction. Thus, in the main front of the Avenida del Aeropuerto we have a slope that is descending in a west-east direction of 1.70 m in a length of 40 m. The plot is located in a recently consolidated urban fabric, with direct connections to the center of the town and lacks a notable historical context.
The plot has two peculiarities that from the beginning influence the configuration of the Project. First, the passage of a large avenue in front of one of the facades and, second, the height of the surrounding building: ground floor + 5. Both aspects condition us in such a way that the proposed two-story building presents its front facing the avenue imposing volumetrically through a three-level prism in the facade bay.
The building is formed from a strictly functional development of the program of needs. Three parallelepipeds in comb delimit two large landscaped interior longitudinal courtyards that are closed at their ends by the circulation spaces.
The three pieces of consultations that are developed perpendicular to the façade have a classic typological scheme of a health center: pairs of consultations linked to waiting modules linked to a circulation corridor. Thus, we have a highly structurally modulated functional system that also allows us great flexibility in the program of uses for possible changes in the future.
The administration area, together with the pediatric and extractions and dentistry consultations are located on the ground floor, the rest of the adult clinic is on the first floor. The interior courtyard on the ground floor attached to the pediatric waiting modules will be used as a play area for children. The personnel area takes place on the second floor.
The main circulations of the building to distribute the combs are brought to the north façade (completely glazed) intentionally to show the activity of the interior to the avenue both day and night framed by the brise-soleil. These interior routes have been covered internally forming a composition of vertical bands in white, gray and black tones.
Access to the health center is made under a covered porch from the highest corner (Naranjal Almagro with Avenida del Aeropuerto): from this level you go down slightly on a ramp parallel to the side of the avenue until you reach the ground floor level.
