The Centre for Marine Studies in Puntarenas general objective to create an international project on the preservation of biological diversity Marina Tropical Central Zone and its importance to the rest of the world.
Within the parameters of architectural design , rescuing architectural elements of context and identity of the people of Puntarenas and natural environment relationship such as the mangrove arises . The use of ecological and sustainable strategies is fundamental in the construction and maintenance of the project to minimize the impact on the natural environment .
The project will include spaces for the investigation of local species and other areas , as well as an exhibition area and aquarium for outreach and education about marine life. Plus an oceanfront hotel for recreation , leisure and tourist attraction , generating a source of income to the town of Puntarenas.
